The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

ASSESSMENT
Normal order is:

1.     Referee informs SDA they are requesting upgrade (via recert. email, phone,SDA,etc.)

2.     Referee makes themself available to Assignor(s) to work games.

3.     Assignor assigns referees according to their criteria & the USSF ethics code.

4.     Referee contacts SDA after receiving appropriate match for upgrade.

5.     SDA Assigns Assessor.

6.     Assessor & referee contact each other about the match.

7.     Referee pays assessor the appropriate fee(prior to the match.)

8.     Match is refereed & assessed.

9.     If match is competitive & meets criteria, referee passes or fails.

 

Referee Certification and Recertification
GRADE 9: assistant referee only, 8 hour class, $70.00.
GRADE 8: middle and assistant referee, 12 hours class, 4 hours on-line plus test $115.00.
RECERTIFICATION: mandatory for all referees each year, 3 hour class, $70.00 total

All Referees must recertify every year. Recertification clinics will begin in January and end in August. Classes for this year are complete.  Go to the www.mainesoccerreferee.com website for information.

To all assignors; make sure that you are using only REGISTERED AND CERTIFIED REFEREES who are USSF REFEREES for all games.
RECREATIONAL LEAGUE, PREMIER LEAGUE, STATE CUP, SUPER Y LEAGUE, NORTHEAST LEAGUE, ETC. 

Who can attend: Anyone that would like to become a United States Soccer Federation registered referee. By attending the class and passing the test, you will become a Grade 8 USSF Referee. This will qualify you to be assigned to work youth level soccer games as either a center referee or an assistant referee. Please remember that you must take a recertification course every year to continue your qualifications to referee. These courses are held from November to April every year. You must be 14 YEARS OLD by the completion of the class.

 

Fee: There is a $115.00 fee for this class, which covers the class and your first year of registration.  Please make checks payable to: SRA Maine.

certified ASSIGNORs 

To ALL ASSIGNORS: You must register at annual assignor meetings. The fee is $20.00, make check payable SRA Soccer Maine. If you don’t go to a meeting you are not affiliated with USSF AND SOCCER MAINE. You can’t assign games if you are not Registered. This means Travel, Recreational, and Tournaments. All clubs must have a registered assignor.
