Waterville Opera House

“Fireflies”, The Youth Film Program of the Maine International Film Festival, is bringing 6 outstanding short films from around the world celebrating soccer and children. Travel to Australia, Holland, Greece, Morocco, Palestine/Israel and Utah in the US to see the world’s game and how kids get inspired by their love of the game and how it pushes them in a variety of different ways testing their own expectations.

Join noted filmmaker Jenny McKenzie for her take on making Kick Like a Girl (one of the films you will see) and come to the reception at Hardy Girls Healthy Women, across the street, afterwards to share in food and festivities.

Tickets are available on line at www.miff.org/yfp, (or at Railroad Square Cinema or the Opera House after July 9th). For more information, call 207-873-0689 or Email mirandar@roadrunner.com.

The SOCCER FILM EVENT is sponsored by Dairy Queens of Waterville and the Savings Bank of Maine. Kick like a Girl is sponsored by Hardy Girls Healthy Women.
